Microsoft released December's Security Bulletins on 12/13/05
There was only 1 Critical Update and 1 Important Update this month, the critical update is a cumulative update to Internet Explorer. Microsoft released November's Security Bulletins on 11/08/05
There was 1 Critical Update this month, vulerabilities in the graphics rendering engine, and affects all current versions of Windows. Essentially every Windows system out there should install this update. As is standard each month, they also updated the Malicious Software Removal Tool. As always visit Windows Update and install any that are recommended for your system.

Microsoft released October's Security Bulletins on 10/11/05
This month there were 9 updates, including 3 Critical Updates, 4 rated Important, and 2 rated Moderate. The 3 Critical Updates include one that is a cumulative update to Internet Explorer, one that is an update to Direct Show (part of DirectX), and the third is updates to MSDTC and COM+. The Important Updates include one for Plug and Play and one for Exchange. As always visit Windows Update and install any that are recommended for your system.

Microsoft released August's Security Bulletins on 8/09/05
This month there were 6 updates, including 3 Critical updates, 1 rated Important, and 2 rated Moderate. Pay special attention to MS05-039 as exploits and worms are already in the wild that exploit the vulnerability in Plug and Play. Microsoft released July's Security Bulletins on 7/12/05
It includes 3 critical updates that fix vulnerabilities that could allow remote code execution. One affects Word, one Windows Color Management, and one Windows Internet Explorer. Be sure to check MS Security Bulletin MS05-037 about the Ineternet Explorer vulnernability in JView Profiler. This error was previously reported last week, the update has now been released.

Sun released a Security Bulletin on 6/13/05
They announced Security Vulnerability With Java Runtime Environment May Allow Untrusted Applet to Elevate Privileges. This issue can occur in the following releases:
Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition(J2SE) 5.0 and 5.0 Update 1 for Windows, Solaris and Linux
J2SE 1.4.2_07 and earlier 1.4.2 releases for Windows, Solaris and Linux.
Be sure to install the updates:

Microsoft released June's Security Bulletins on 6/14/05
It was a busy month, with 10 Updates, including 3 critical, and 4 rated as important. The critical updates fix vulnerabilities that could allow remote code execution. One of the critical updates is a cumulative update to Internet Explorer, and affects Windows XP including Service Pack 2. Also this month Microsoft updated their Windows Update Software to version 6, so you will need to allow an Active X download to install the new updating software on your system. As usual these days, Microsoft updated their Malicous Software Removal Tool. As always visit Windows Update and install any that are recommended for your system.

It was a light month, as there was only 1 Important Update (none critical), and it affects Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 and 4. So XP users get off easy this month. There were 8 Bulletins, including 5 critical and 3 important updates. The critical Security Bulletins affect Windows, Internet Explorer, Exchange Server, MSN Messenger, and Word and Office versions. Many of the vulnerabilities allow an attacker to take complete control of an affected system, including remote code execution. Be sure to visit Windows Update and install the ones recommended for your system.

Microsoft released February's Security Bulletins on 2/08/05
There were 12 Bulletins, including 8 critical and 3 important and 1 moderate updates. The critical Security Bulletins affect Windows, Internet Explorer, Office, MSN Messenger, and Windows Media Player. Many of the vulnerabilities allow an attacker to take complete control of an affected system, including remote code execution.
